WHY
Ever since I was a child, I've had a love of words. From my first made up phrase to learning to read early, I took in every bit of storytelling craft that I could.
A summer project that led to a late night in my aunt's and uncle's kitchen brought on the desire to create something I would enjoy reading for myself.
And then I never stopped writing.
WHAT
Though I enjoy a wide variety of writing styles and genres, I have had the most success and fulfillment from my poetry. In 2017, I discovered blackout poetry: What started as a simple hobby wound up opening many doors.
From there, I decided to start experimenting with writing poems from scratch–a project that was only supposed to take one year. Three years later, I walked away with three, full-length manuscripts and the beginnings of two more poetry books.
WHEN
Currently, I have six books that I've self-published and several more at various stages in the writing/editing process. One manuscript at a time, I'm preparing for readers to get their hands on polished copies.
Meanwhile, I'm freelancing as an editor, blogging when possible, running a RedBubble shop for my artwork, writing a few new poetry works (as well as continuing my blackout poetry endeavors), tackling new writing projects in other genres, baking like crazy, and enjoying plenty of other creative pursuits.
