WHY
Ever since she was a child, Kiana had a love of words. From her first made up phrase to learning to read early, she took in every bit of storytelling craft that she could.
A summer project that led to a late night in her aunt's and uncle's kitchen brought on the desire to create something she would enjoy reading for herself.
And then she never stopped writing.
WHAT
Though she enjoys a wide variety of writing styles and genres, Kiana has had the most success and fulfillment from her poems. In 2017, she discovered blackout poetry: What started as a simple hobby wound up opening many doors.
From there, she decided to start experimenting with writing poems from scratch–a project that was only supposed to take one year. Three years later, she walked away with three, full-length manuscripts and the beginnings of two more poetry books.
WHEN
Currently, Kiana has six books that she has self-published and several more at various stages in the writing/editing process. One manuscript at a time, she is preparing for readers to get their hands on polished copies.
Meanwhile, she is freelancing as an editor, blogging when the mood strikes, running a RedBubble shop for her artwork, writing a few new poetry works (as well as continuing her blackout poetry endeavors), tackling new writing projects in other genres, and enjoying other creative pursuits.
