Inkling Is Published, So Let's Talk!

Firstly, I want to say thank you to those who have been following on my journey thus far–you've really made my dream possible! To those who are just joining in: Welcome, very glad to have you!

Now, if you're here, I'm assuming you've read (or intend to read) my debut work, Inkling. I decided it could be fun to discuss the book now that there's some context available to you. Inkling is broken into three sections, so I figured we could tackle each of those over the next three months, looking at specific poems and various aspects over the four-ish weeks for each.

I've already gone over my editing/arranging process (which is probably more difficult and detailed than it needs to be, but I like it and it works for me), so you already have an idea about how the book literally came together, but here's a bigger picture: Inkling is about growth and healing. The three sections are called LISTEN, FEEL, and LEARN. (So we'll be chatting a bit about LISTEN in January, FEEL in February, and LEARN in March.) LISTEN in particular tackles the initial feelings and thoughts of hurt and grief, though it is kind of through the lens of wanting to be/feel heard.

Now, as the name of the book suggests, these are more of the "for polite company" versions of those tough themes. I'd like to think there's still a level of profound/worthwhile content in Inkling, but I also can acknowledge that my future books get a lot more real and in-depth. Even so, I'm sure there will be plenty to discuss and breakdown within each section, and I look forward to doing that here and hearing what you all think!
